This is your personal invitation to come and experience the beauty of X on Lake.

Five years ago, I was wondering about the idea of building a boutique hotel - one where the outdoor and indoor know no borders.. A place where birds, cattle, trees, flowers, and butterflies freely flow and share the land, and where the smell of wet earth constantly flirts with one's senses...

Amidst the contemplation over the investment, the commmitment, the sheer energy such a dream would demand came a magical swoop... I looked up and saw not one, not two, not ten, not even twelve — but fifteen wild peacocks suddenly appear around me. In that instant, I knew my answer. There has been no looking back.

Et voilà… X-on-Lake.

5 years and still counting, x on lake has been my raison d'etre...my project - my purpose - my passion.

Why “X”?

The letter X has always held a special fascination for me because of the beauty and the mysterious element… the unknown variable. I called it X on Lake long before it became the trendy symbol of a global platform.

To me, X represents the unknown — that infinite space full of possibility. Besides, my name has an X. I might as well be called “Rox on Lake!”

Elon Musk beautifully articulated an idea when he created his X:

“To embody the imperfections in us all that make us unique.”

This idea also touches me deeply. X on Lake is not a perfectly polished, artificial place. It has soul and it is real — shaped by the beautiful lake setting, the wild peacocks, the patches of wild bougainvilleas, the people who work here from the village and elsewhere who bring with them their own stories, and of course every guest who arrives here with their own imperfections and dreams.

Here, the X is yours to define.

Here there are only two seasons: June to September brings 50 shades of green, while he rest of the year bougainvilleas offer colour therapy - always framed by rolling hill views and shimmering water.

X-on-Lake begins on the hilltop and flows down to become pied en l'eau — part of our 30 acres literally meets the lake. You never have to choose between hills and water; you enjoy both in one seamless paradise. Best of all, this biospheric sanctuary is only 2.5 hours by car from Mumbai — no planes, no fuss.
